Portuguese Gag Bit with French Link2
The Portuguese gag acts the same as a snaffle bit. Attaching the reins to the bottom ring creates more leverage making the bit ideal for maintaining control of your horse. When the reins are placed on the lower ring, poll pressure is increased and encourages the horse to lower the head.
The French link bit is more acceptable to horses with a low palate as it does not have the nutcracker action of the single jointed snaffle. The mouthpiece lays flat on the tongue and allows for more movement resulting in a lighter, offhand ride. The rein pressure is more evenly over the bars for a more independent control over the two sides of the mouth. 18 mm Mouth
